Project Overview

The offshore oil platform in the Sanya sea area of the South China Sea is in a typical marine monsoon climate zone, with frequent sea fog, water vapor turbulence and frequent low-visibility weather. Offshore platform hoisting operations and helicopter personnel transportation have extremely high requirements on atmospheric visibility. Once foggy and low-visibility weather occurs, visual operation will be severely restricted, easily triggering major safety hazards.

On-Site Equipment & Technical Features

The Hotech marine visibility sensor adopted in the project is optimized and upgraded for offshore high-corrosion and high-humidity environments, breaking the limitations of ordinary land visibility equipment in marine application.

The sensor adopts forward scattering optical detection principle, which can accurately capture the concentration of sea fog, water vapor and suspended particles in the air, and output real-time and accurate atmospheric visibility numerical values. It realizes quantitative evaluation of foggy days, hazy days and other low-visibility working conditions, and provides intuitive and reliable data support for offshore operation management and safety approval.

In terms of environmental adaptability, the equipment has excellent sea fog erosion resistance and dust and water splash resistance. The whole machine adopts marine anti-corrosion structure and special coating technology, which can effectively resist the erosion of sea salt deposition and strong sea wind. It can operate stably for a long time in the open-air harsh environment of offshore platforms without frequent manual maintenance.

Cooperated with the supporting data control cabinet, the visibility monitoring data can be displayed locally in real time, automatically stored and archived, and synchronously uploaded to the platform central control system.
